Oak is a beautiful timber with a majesty all of its own. It is a hard, heavy and very durable hardwood, which does finish very well.
It generally has a coarse straight grain, but it can have lovely variations in its grain and texture.
Providing it is maintained it will last a lifetime. If it is not maintained water will seep in under the oil or varnish and gradually turn the grain black. Click here to order your

Your Choices
Sizes - Our standard sizes are 100mm/ 4" high and 150mm/6" high. On the 150mm you can have one or two lines of text. For other sizes as well as unusual text layouts use The Made to Measure Oak Signs
Fonts -
We can use most common fonts to be found on a PC, along with a wide selection of more unusual ones. - Click here to see examples

Letter Colours - Black, brown, red, purple, white, bright blue, navy blue and green
Borders - Line border with indented or square corners
Double Sided - Signs can be double sided - Letters on reverse
Simple Shaping - Arrow Shape, Rounded Corners, Scalloped Corners
Finish - We normally finish with three coats of Danish Oil but will varnished if preferred. We can supply the Danish Oil to maintain your sign
Holes - We can drill holes in the sign for you - 2 for a sign 100mm high, 4 for larger signs. Alternatively you could use one of the many adhesives on the market. We have found CT1 or Power Grad n Bond to be very effective. If you can't find locally we can supply . (lasts for up to a year in the tube for other fixing jobs) - UK delivery only.
Sizes and Prices
The exact letter height and length depends on the wording, the font, borders and whether or not holes are to be drilled. Each sign is individually designed to be pleasing to the eye. If you wish to specify exact sizes, letter height or layout details please use:-
